Our Very Own Nonagenarian, John Harrison, Celebrates!

Our very own Nonagenarian parties into the night, John Harrison celebrates his 90th birthday with the village!

The family of John Harrison worked very hard to make sure that their father had the best birthday ever. Secretly they invited the WHOLE village to help them celebrate John’s 90th birthday on 20th July 2013 in the Reading Room. They provided us with cakes and drinks and lots of memorabilia reflecting on John’s life mainly in Rathmell. It was a happy time for the residents of the village to talk with others and with those who were brought up in the village and had found pastures new. Daughters Sheila and Janie and son Andrew and their family welcomed everyone with open arms. John happily joined in entertaining us as usual with his jokes and reminiscences.
