Happy Birthday Veronica!

You may have thought the Scots were invading Rathmell on Thursday 8th August – Veronica Trueman of College Fold certainly got a surprise when she looked out of her window to find a piper on her lawn playing ‘Happy Birthday’.

“It’s like the Queen, having your own piper playing” she said. Julia Weston, who has been learning the bagpipe for 2 years, then played several more tunes, as well-wishers visited.

Veronica, who is celebrating her 80th Birthday, then went on to lunch with friends at The Courtyard, and (apparently) a further two days of merry-making!
