    Good Morning,
My name is John Rathmell and I live in the US. I remember my father (also John Rathmell) telling me about visiting Rathmell in 1929 when he attended the World Boy Scout Jamboree in England. I tried Googling Rathmell and discovered your wonderful website. The pictures are beautiful and I loved seeing the activities…coffee and cake at the Reading Room sounds wonderful.
I am a retired engineer and have been thinking about a visit to the UK. My wife’s family home is in Southern Scotland and we might do a visit “through our ancestors history”.
Wishing you all the best and if things work out perhaps we could attend one of the activities in the future.
    Best regards,
    John Macklin Rathmell

Most interested to find your info. I have found the River Dibb (our family name) and my Father was John Rathmell Dibb. We intend to come and explore some more later on this year. Last time we stayed in Ingleton, and could well do so again.
My Uncle, Clive Murray was a reporter on the Yorkshire Post and assisted in the original exploration of the Whitescar Caves, which I visited as lad in the 1940s – and yes we are both over 80 years old, but reasonably fit and able.
However my computer skills are somewhat lacking, so if I don’t complete the e-mail application correctly, perhaps you will be kind enough to do so for me.

    Regards, Jean and Christopher Dibb
