The title of her talk is ‘A Yorkshire Lass’. This meeting is rearranged from the usual date – the first Thursday in each calendar month – because of its proximity to the New Year bank holiday.
The February meeting will be on Thursday, February 7, when the speakers will be Chris and Judy Leeming on ‘Hidden France’.

Rathmell’s Fallen 1914 – 1918At the meeting on 6th November Margaret Brenchley gave a presentation commemorating “Rathmell’s Fallen” of the 1914-1918 War. It was very moving to see photos of the men who some of us only knew as names on the Rathmell Village memorial – others recalled family relationships and connections. Margaret also showed us pictures of the cemeteries each man was buried in, all still kept in beautiful condition by The Commission for War Graves. John Harrison thanked Margaret for her excellent presentation which gave us an insight into the impact of the Great War on local lives 100 years ago. With further thanks to Margaret we have been able to display the pictures she discovered in the course of her research. They are on the notice board in Rathmell Reading Room.
