Open Farm Sunday in Rathmell over £700 raised for the Reading Room, a great success with lots of visitors.
The Open Farm Day on Sunday 5th June dawned warm & sunny. Hosted by Chris Weston at Cappelside Farm Rathmell & sponsored by the Co-operative Society it was the perfect setting to promote British Farming.Visitors were taken on guided tours of the farm & the woodland burial site. They met the Hereford cattle & the two very handsome Draught horses.
The BBQ & cake stall did a roaring trade with food supplied by the Co-op & prepared, cooked & served by members of the Reading Room Committee with the indispensable help of Linda Brennand,James Harrison & George.
Thanks also to Taylor’s of Harrogate for providing an ample supply of Yorkshire Tea
Rathmell Reading Room was the nominated local charity for the 2016 Rathmell Open Farm & received the amazing total of £736
