OPEN FARM AT CAPPLESIDE FARM RATHMELL 2017; a great success… see the photos!!

On Sunday 11th June Cappleside Farm joined in the National Open Farm Sunday event. This was the third year the farm had opened its gates and welcomed visitors on to the farm.

As in previous years the open day ran from 10am to 4pm, and included guided farm walks. Refreshments including a barbecue, hot and cold drinks and cakes, were provided courtesy of Rathmell Reading Room Committee with all proceeds going to local charities and the Rathmell Reading Room.  The sum of £225+ was raised from the Cake Stall with overall takings for the day being £700+.

Thanks are extended to all those who helped on the day or produced ‘Goodies’, which were Very Good and tempting to eat, or buy to take home.

The Open day is run in conjunction with Co-operative Food, who provide all the burgers and sausages for the barbecue, and Dunbia who process the meat from the beef cattle produced on the farm.
